It is usually the switch that gets corroded. The bi-polar motor is fairly reliable, but has been known to go out. Same cannot be said for the wiring between the door and frame which gets bent a lot.

Check the wires first for current. There is only an overload relay, which is supposed to reset itself after a few minutes. Both, the driver's door and the rear door window controller send current.
