Thanks for responding--the rain sensor works fine when it's raining. I drove down to San Antonio and it (the problem) cleared up. Oh, forgot--the AC does not come on when the fan is on or rather:
water splashes onto radiator area; fan comes on; AC won't work. A couple of days later (assuming it dries out) radiator fan works fine (that is it is off) the AC works fine (fan of course comes on when AC is on); turn off AC and fan turns off. The whole thing starts again after I drive in the rain or get a car wash.
