on my 96 850 there are timing marks on the inside of the timing belt cover . my hanes manual says to mark the cam gear timing mark with either witeout or light color crayon and install the timing light to check timing,it is not adjustable ,if it is off then the manual suggests the crankshaft sensor or the ecu hpoe that helps you
