Use a hacksaw blade and carefully cut the small $3 "catch" piece that holds the latch closed. To do that, you need to tape the upper part of the dash and glove box door to prevent scratching it with the blade and use another tool, like a screwdriver to keep the door pryed open enough to get the blade in there w/o distorting the door.
Before you begin, get a new door latch assembly (not the lock cylinder) and a new catch piece (receiver part). You'll then need to remove the door, dissassemble the door to replace the latch assembly parts.
No need to distroy that expensive door.
