Yes - I think it's the end link bushing that is shot. I was looking at some official volvo diagram that showed 2 main components, trailing arm and transverse arm and my problem area is at the end point of the transverse arm. So thanks for the write up. I might leave it to the dealer and have them replace all bushings related to the left rear as it might make sense to do the entire side.
