I'll try again 850 1994

Maybe it was early morning brain fog and poor typing.

The original post was asking whether the steering knuckle (the part that attaches to the control arm) needs to be replaced when switching to a 1 piece control arm. BTW, my Haynes manual says that you do as well.

What I wanted to know is whether this is true. From my understanding of your replies, you can replace the 2-piece design (used on the '93 and I suppose some early'94 model year cars) with the 1 piece design and use the original steering knuckle. From what I have seen on the IPD catalog, the control arm used on later model 850's is aluminum with the ball joint permanently afixed to the control arm

I wasn't asking about the steering stop that contacts the control arm.
