Mike,

I wonders if it applies to 1998 models too, as I am experiencing the same problem with my '98 S70 GLE !

The noise & rattling is coming from the instrument panel ( especially the small black panel in front of the gauges ), and the steering column.

However, the rattles & noises only happens when I go over speed bumps or traveling on rough road surfaces.
