Re: Are XC'c a good buy?

Two years ago I needed a wagon and after reviewing my options I went for 98 V70 GLT. I still have my Honda Accord 1990 with 500,000 km that still is going strong and if at that time Honda had a wagon I would've probably got one. However, after two years and 100,000 km with my Volvo I think I made the right choice. Except for a couple of minor problems that were fixed under warranty I haven't had any issues with my Volvo. The car is far roomier, agile, and comfortable than Accord. If you are a DIY person Volvo is much easier to work on and access to critical parts is much better that in Honda (try replacing timing belt). But my Volvo is FWD and from what I read here far less failure prone than AWD. I don't quite see a point of getting an AWD vehicle if a FWD with winter tires, in my experience, works as well in snow.

So, if after reading all the posts you're still no discouraged I suggest giving a FWD V70 a try. You will not be disappointed.
