Hal:

Buy an AUDI A-6 wagon. Virtually same size but has a true all wheel drive 50/50 split. They are a little under powered normally asperated V-6 which is pretty much bullit proof.

I currently have a 00 XC SE and am a little disappointed with the electronic all wheel drive. I would rather have had an Audi but my wife had to have it. She is happy with it and as long as she doesn't complain to me about it I am happy. I am going to put a set of Mich. Artic Alpins on to see if it performs better in the snow as it was basically worthless with the current Mich. all season tires on it.
