Cold weather Driving 850 1996

NO! It is called the Winter button but is only to be used if there is almost no traction due to ice or hard packed snow, like trying to move from a stop sign but all of the wheels are slipping. The W button will keep your car in 3rd gear at take off, which means a lot of slipping inside the tranny. The slipping will overheat the tranny fluid in a short time at very slow speeds and rapidly wear out the bands.

Levave the W button OFF all of the time. The AWD system will take care of slipping and sliding.
