Another normally sized person!! Getting in the driver's seat is a real problem when my size 15s have to go in the footwell first :)

You should have the door open by now. There is a small black metal switch just under the latch on the outside of the door, where it attaches to the B pillar. Flip that switch forward to lock the door, then use the handle to unlock it. If it is stuck, a little WD40 goes a long way.
