Serendipity 850 1997

Funny thing, I was getting intermittent ABS/TRACS idiot lights showing up, and every now and then the ABS pump would start running briefly for no obvious reason. The only clue was that hitting a bump would often trigger the lights. At any rate, diagnostics pointed to the right rear ABS sensor. I took off the wheel and checked the mounting, nothing obvious there. So then I tore into the trunk to expose the connectors there. What do you know, that rattle I'd been hearing was the upper shock mount. Ordered a new mount, and checked resistance on the sensors. No problem there. Drove the car to work that week listening to the shock wiggle and squeak, and replaced the mount the next weekend. And then as it turns out, no more ABS lights, just disturbing the connection was apparently enough to cure the problem. Killed two birds with one stone, so to speak (not that I would every do that literally, though our kitties would like to give it a try).
