Cynthia's 1967 wagon is now in my garage waiting warmer weather so my knuckles won't hurt so much when I bang them. Besides, the floor is really cold.
The picture of C.A.'s dogs on her hood is a great one! The older died a couple of years ago, the younger - fannie - is still with her on an almost daily basis and was trained to be a service dog.
Close to 5 years ago, C.A. was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer. Similar to Sen. Ted Kennedy. Treatments of chemo and radiation slowed the growth of the cancer, and at one point the tumor actually shrank a little. But the damage was done, possibly aided by the radiation destroying some healthy cells.
When first diagnosed, she was given 6 months to live. Trips to the Mayo clinic left her physically impared but still able to talk and move. She had lost her ability to say numbers, but she could still make jewlery (her livelihood) and teach art.
This week, she moved into hospice. She can no longer move her right side and talking is most difficult. A big change from 5 years ago when she was a major poster in the opinions section of the board.
