I'll have some time in a few weeks to do the job right, is it necessary to buy the kit from ipd with all the hoses or just the separator? Can I check the plumbing b4 I order the parts?

I found the the PTC might mimic similar symptoms and to check 1st. Any ideas, how to remove, check,clean?
