Ditto to Fixit. You can check the Tbelt sticker, it is supposedly good for 70K miles. But it does not sound like it is maintained so not worth the $2700.
You can check the mileage, it is in the computer :)
The DTC boxes are on the passenger fender labeled A&B. Lift the cover off the A box and insert the probe in slot #7 for the instrument panel. Turn the key to pos II, close the driver door, and push the small black button 5 times. When the light turns red, push once wait 3 seconds, push once again with a short wait, then push twice. The led should then blink a series of 3 times. The first number of blinks should be 1, for 100K. The second should be 5 times for 50K, the third for 1K increments. If it blinks 10 times, that is a zero.
You can also check for codes in slots A1,A2, and A6. A response of 1-1-1 is what you want to find.
I only mention this because I was helping someone who bought an 850T and the odometer said 87K, which just didn't look right for the shape of the interior. When I check his mileage, it was over 240K!! Poor kid, paid a premium for a low mileage car.
Check the Craigslist entries for Chicago to get comparable prices on the 850s. You will be surprised at the low prices.
