The slow reaponse message is real and means replacement of the front O2 sensor. You can erase it, but it will come back. And your ECU will not 'set'.

Sorry, I have no idea which L hose you are refering to.

Vacuum leaks around the intake manifold can cause the engine to run rich, but your O2 sensor is already toast.
