The '95 was the last year that you could read the codes with the manual interface that Klaus describes. The beauty of this sytem is that is allows you to read all the Volvo codes, and reset them. You can also reset the Service Engine light, which is great compared to a '98, where you have to buy a special dedicated tool just to do it (or find a way to turn the light off permanently, like remove it and smash to bits under your heel).
The downside is people used to doing everything electronically may find it to be clunky and slow.
I believe the connector under the coin tray may be inop in some or all '95s. But you really don't need it once you get used to the button/LED interface.
