Engine Ticking? V70-XC70 1998

Hello, "...what kind of work am I looking at to find out?" You're going to have to explain that one to me. I can tell you this: When I had my 1999 (non-turbo, hydrolic lifters) I could hear my valve train ticking. At someone's recommendation I used Royal Purple for an oil change and my engine went completely silent. I was so amazed that I mentioned it to people and was told that Amzoil probably would've had the same effect. Don't ask me, I don't know why. The effect was so certain that when I changed the oil in my 2002 for the first time I used RP just to hear it again. That time there was no change. My 2002 has solid lifters. I think you should just drive your car with any clean oil of proper grade and viscosity. I don't know about treatments, Seafoam, running an engine with transmission fluid instead of oil for 10 minutes at idle etc. Kira
