Engine Ticking? V70-XC70 1998

Engine ticking has nothing to do with leaking oil. The passages to the hydraulic lifters could be somewhat gummed up, or the O rings at the bottom of the oil pan could be disintegrating which lowers the oil pressure.

Because the ticking goes away within 1 mile, no big deal. Just do not rev it too much while cold.

These engines really do need synthetic oil to stay clean.
