Ignoring slip angles and air destiny, it would seem that a smooth pipe would flow more air then a corrugated one. So why is the Volvo intake corrugated? Was it just to keep the tolerances lax? Just wondering your thoughts on that matter. Also, I am sure there is a better material then plastic out there.
