The original shift knob just pulls straight up and off, takes some force but it's not bad. The OEM knob then just taps back into place too and is very easy to install.

I've not seen or tryed to install a Momo shift knob but I'd think that if it was made for your car (not a Chevy), it'd install exactly as the OEM does and there should be no cutting of anything required. Whatever you do, don't cut your original shift knob off.
