Rear shock installation V70-XC70 2004

The installation went well. Unless I really missed something, there is no way for the shock mount and shock to come out from inside the car as it did on my prior 850 wagon. I removed the top shock nut (torx required inside the shaft) and dropped the shock out the bottom. Once the new shock was in place I removed all three retaining screws holding the mount in place to give me maximum ability to wiggle the shock to carefully line up the lower bolt to ensure I did not damage the threads on the welded-on nut. Once all nuts and bolts were snug I put the car back on the ground and properly tightened. The replacement Bilstein heavy duty shocks required a hex key instead of a torx driver to hold the shaft while tightening. fwiw
