Re: Anti-sway Bars and Handling 850 95

Sin,

The Volvo Performance Handook, with regard to caster, indicates that "adjustments to factory settings are difficult". Unfortunately, it doesn't say why - just "difficult".

As to toe in - one alignment shop I tried said the toe in on Volvos was not something they can adjust. I think I'll try another shop...

The rear toe is (again according to the Volvo Performance Handook) "fixed by the live rear axle. Delta-Link ... rear suspensions are set to between 3 and 4 minutes of toe in." Don't know how that relates to .5cm.

I am having the front camber set to the maximum negative value of -.5 degrees. That's all the further it can go negative without a shim kit from the Volvo dealer. That would let me go to -1 degree. Since the car is still street driven, tire milage may keep me from going that route. The stock setting for the 800 series is somewhere around +.5 so going the same amount negative would seem to have little effect on tire life.

Thanks for the tips!
