Re: ECU from different year 850 '94

Check the build date of the '95. ASSUMING its ECU is original, this may

tell you if the ECU is similar/identical to yours or if it incorporates

the "drivability enhancement" that appeared during the '95 MY.

The very-early MY '95 I drove felt like it had no balls at all unless/until

I floored the throttle, which caused a complete personality change, and the

engine roared, and the car went like a bat out of hell.

My car was built in 1995. At part throttle it felt like it had unlimited

power, but flooring the throttle made *much* less difference; the car would

rarely roar.

The earlier ones tended to get better mileage around town, and have higher

maximum engine performance. But the newer ones feel so much better nearly

all the time and were, I'm sure, considered better suited to the US market,

with our torque-rotted brains.

Since nothing beats a trial like a failure, try it before you give up

yours forever. But give it time to settle in before making any judgements.

Any time they're de-powered for any length of time they take a while to

re-learn/re-acquaint. Do de-power (fuse #1, as I recall) before

removing/installing.
