Timing belt...Help 850

The crank mark on the VVT engines is quite hard to see, but still inside the teeth. The ridge on the oil pump is still the 'mark'.

Major difference in changing the T belt is to crank the engine 90 degrees past TDC alignment and then back to release the tension on the VVT cam.

Considering the imprecise marks for the two cams, the crank mark could have been larger or more obvious. Count the teeth between the cams before removing the belt.

You need to replace the tensioner. The tensioner gets set before you put it on the engine. It is set by temperature, the newer ones are a little easier I think. This site is pretty good:
