Most OEM batteries are good for 6-7 years, sometimes more.

I couldn't find any recalls or TSBs on your problem. I suggest contacting the dealer service dept and ask them if they have any suggestions. Don't make a blind service appointment, if the dealer doesn't have a specific answer, call the Volvo 800 number and ask them.

If you think AC is needed in the summer, wait until it gets cold and you have no heat!!
