I pulled mine out and while back. The motors and shafts broke on the way out. One side is easy, and other side is hard. Lots of wiggling, kind of a pain, but easier if you break it. The valances without holes were $40, so I shaped some heavy black plastic (from toy packaging) and glued small oval pieces to cover the holes. Looks good!
