no reverse on my 850 wagon! 850

No codes, no limp mode? That sucks

The reverse lights are on so the car realizes it should be in reverse correct?

Assuming you've lost the gear (which is actually pretty hard to lose it and nothing else) go to a transmission shop and see what they can do. They know the trannys and usually can rebuild a bit cheaper.

Do you KNOW that the car is working in all four gears? You can verify them with the gear selection knob while driving (put the car in L from 0-9mph will go to first; go into L from above 20mph and it will be in 2nd, upshift to 3 and it should upshift when you let off the throttle.. Speed up and throw it into drive and it should upshift again... If you can't get into 1st or 4th you might have lost Brake 3 or Clutch 2 (respectively..)
