No, switching to the manual tensioner from the hydraulic is not a good suggestion. I can live with 70K intervals, those with 30K/yr miles could probably go a little farther on a belt and a 10 year limit is always good planning.

I like my hydraulic tensioner, all I need to do is buy rollers and a belt.
