Electronic Throttle Module "Recall' (surging, power loss, limp mode)

Yep.

My nephew had the dealer do the belt change at 100k.

Same dealer I will have to deal with. They charged him $1600 just for the belt change ($1080 was labor, rest was parts), and $1100 to replace a cracked driver's side window ($380 labor, rest was window and the lift which they said had to be replaced when glass was replaced due to crack in one pane of the laminated glass the car has all around).

I mention the prices only because I suspect that they won't be thrilled at the prospect of a warranty ETM.

Looking at the vehicle service records, I see 30k ago they did install the revised software for the ETM when my nephew reported surging and stalling at idle. Not sure if that means they have "closed" the case on my VIN number.

At least the idle is dead smooth this time!

Thanks,
Bob
BTW, The non-contact ETM from Canada looks good. No fingers wiping on the resistor film to wear it out like the OEM. Volvo should adopt THAT design.
