Re: performance advice S40-V40 2001

Ryan,

The stock exhaust system looks nice sure, and I does work well for a 160hp rated car. But add some boost, you will need a bigger exhaust thats for sure! I got the IPD/TME exhaust, It gave me better gas mileage, deeper tone, and less lag with greater power. Yea sometimes it seems too loud for even me, only above 4500-6000rpm. About four weeks ago I rotated my tires, due to wear. Heavy foot! I really do think they should of put limited slip or posi for this car! Not sure if it's due to a great break in, K&N without foams, and IPD exhaust. But I can just forget about punching the gas from a side street and turning onto the main road without smoking the tires all the way into half of second gear! Even with full tread, the right amount of air in the tires an all! From a stand still I can bark the tires on the white lines easy. Or Smoke them on any street with power braking. In a straight line both tires seem to bark, turn to either side, then one tire goes crazy. I won't be able to put 200+hp threw the stock tires, right now it can't handle 170hp. 160+10hp for exhaust, an turbo cars always seem to make more hp than rated. guess some big fatty tires with 17" are going on if I don't plan on getting me a S60 T5 in 10months just not sure yet... T5 just sound so good when WOT. Sweet sound of 5 pistons, a 2.0L 230hp T5 would of been great for the S/V40
