Going from 99 to 2000 V70/ Difference in model? V70-XC70

state of Florida as in you called the DMV and they informed you that if you apply for a salvage title (usually the ins. company does this) you have to immediately turn over the car to a junkyard? Or the INS company said it? If you've cashed the check, its pointless to investigate, but if you don't have the money yet, and still have access to the car (like its still at a body shop or something) I'd call the DMV and make sure. I'm not from FL so I don't have experience in this with that state. MO lets you get salvage on the car w/o a salvage title (nice if I ever were to replace the rear quarter on mine, might get more in resale, but unlikely). I just hate to see good parts go off to the junkyard...

You've said you're going to be purchasing the '00 so perhaps the accident isn't officially resolved, and you can get it. They might quote you 5-600 on 'salvage value' (possibly less, my 850 was valued at 3100, with 300 salvage value 2 yrs ago) of the car which means they'll deduct that from what they've given you, so you have to figure if its worth it.

If you're not driving it "like its stolen," are you really driving?
