ripped them straight out of VADIS, best thing I've been given from the dealer. They also have a troubleshooting procedure for the codes (which varies from very helpful to not helpful).
For instance the P0171 will say to use Volvo tool xxx to check intake for leaks, then exhaust for leaks with tool xxxx. Then I think it just says try new front 02 sensor. P0172 has more, because it could be fuel related as well as rear 02 sensor..
AFAIK all the models before '05 will have a translation between Volvo DTC's and the generic (Pxxxx) codes, though I haven't checked all the models yet. This helps when people just post that they have Pxxxx code and no description of their car except model (A '98 V70AWD is different than an '04V70) and many times the codes only show up for certain engine/tranny/year combos.
