check engine light on/code po171/ oxygen sensor S60

Because the O2 sensors are expensive, you really should look for vacuum leaks or any other air leaks around the intake manifold first. P0171 just says that the combustion is too rich or too lean and can no longer be compensated by changing the fuel enrichment.

The two O2 sensors do not get replaced in pairs, the rear usually lasts much longer than the front. If you do decide that the front O2 sensor needs replacing, get one that is Volvo specific, you do not want to splice wires!
