The S40concepts site has been down for several days, but I see today it is up. I'll post over there as well.

Your problem with your fan sounds like how my problem started out. It took a couple of years to play out, so you have some time.

I pulled the fan transistor as well yesterday. Replacing it instead of the entire unit with heat sink looks to be an exercise in microsurgery. I know it's been done, but might take some skill.
