leather ointment V70-XC70

F,

This is an interesting and controversial topic. Over the years I've used a number of products--Armor All to Zymol.

Recently, I ordered a replacement cover for the driver's seat bottom on my MY '98 S70 since the seams have split and the cost to R&R is almost the same as a new cover.

I noted that the pores were visible. I took a magnifying glass and looked carefully at the other seating surfaces and found that pores are indeed visible.

So I know that S/V 70 leather is top-grain, lightly corrected, embossed and protected.

Bottom line: Don't use any cleaner or conditioner that blocks the leather's pores.

I use Lexol once or twice a year, Volvo Cleaner & Protectant to maintain the top coat 3-4 times a year, BMW Leather Care as needed. The most important thing is to wipe down the seats every couple of weeks with a damp microfiber towel to remove dust buildup.

YMMV. Enjoy!

Bryan
