Klaus, now that I think of it...I had a 92 240 which had the same thing relatively in the same location. It was the plug for the electric AC fan which had been long since removed since I had the car (belt fan was stuck in permanent engaged mode..bad clutch)...maybe this is what its for? Wondering if maybe the towing package included an extra fan in front of the condensor?
