I too am in the market for a new battery. The Volvo original is getting weak after only 3 years. After reading several posts on this board it appears the general opinion is that Volvo batteries are not that good (some only last 1-2 years). I plan to replace mine with either an Interstate or DieHard both made by the same manufacturer Johnson Controls).

Also, the local dealer quoted me $148 for a new Volvo battery. Way over priced! That was another deciding factor for me.
