I have a 95 850 turbo wagon and had a similar problem. Noticed that when driving at highway speeds and pressing hard on accelerator to pass the car would downshift accelerate, seem to stall as if running out of gas or trans was slipping, then continue. As the car was still under mfr warranty (48K) at the time, took it to the dealer. They said all was well. On the third visit, they said the transmission was faulty, they've seen this on a number of 850's, and would replace the transmission. Good thing I pushed the issue because the car was already at 49K. shifts fine now.
