WHY would you spend $1300 for an ECU?

- a junk yard will give you one for WAY less than that. You can probably buy a whole car that includes an ECU for that much money.

- they never fail. No one has a failed ECU. Check this board and any other you like. Unless someone is screwing around with the electrical system the ECU is fine.

- a smoke test would be less than $100 and will show you any vac/evap/exhaust leaks.
