I think the speed limiter is 143 or 149 mph thru 98 models

(U.S. market) for turbos. Low 120s after 98. I'm not

sure how it reacts (probably similar to hitting the

rev limiter). After-market ECUs typically remove the

top speed limiter.

At 143mph your engine would be spinning at about 5200 RPM

(based on the photo Dave has posted showing the speedo

pegged -- not from my experience).

Your tire rating should be on the side of the tire.
