I don't know how accurate my speedo is, but I've red lined my 94' 855T in final gear before. When I do it, I hold it for a for a couple seconds. It's really hard to find stretches of highway without cops, traffic and good road surface. The engine actually revs past the red line if you keep your foot planted. In fact, my speedo has actually gone past 260km/h at about 6150rpm. If my speedo is correct (and I seriously doubt it was), it was at about 260km/h or about 161.6mph. And the speed was still climbing at a very very slow rate. I'm assuming the car will do something closer to 250km/h or about 155.4mph.

I have also taken a 2001 Mazda Protege LX Touring Edition with a 160km/h'ish electronic speed limiter to the limit so I know what hitting a speed limiter feels like. In this car, it doesn't feel so much as if the engine is misfiring. To me, it feels simply like the throttle has been cut from my control.

I think the common feeling of misfiring is the tranny and torque convertor causing slight jerking feelings when the limiter is hit and the throttle control is bypassed by the ecu.
