Using ALL three HomeLink buttons! S80 2000

I use only the #1 HomeLink button for use with my garage door opener. Do others use the #2 and/or #3 as well, and if so, what is the usage?

It seems to me that having Volvo provide three buttons is over-doing it a bit -- but then maybe I'm in the minority -- what's the marketing strategy for providing three -- is it a standard or something?
