Volvo battery longevity S80 2005

Hello V...945,

I've got an '02 S80; just change the OE battery last month, with 140K on the clock, and I'm in the northeast. I did check the battery water level every quarter, and trim-up with distilled. My '98 S70 had a similar experience; the OE battery was replaced after eight years. I'd wait until the first sign of failure then replace it immediately.
