I'd have to think that it's very unusual IMHO as I've never seen one replaced at our dealership. If it's being condemned because the code says "pump motor fault, either mechanical or electrical fault" (don't remember the code # at this moment, not handy here), it's always been a control unit problem requiring a new ABS control unit instead as the pump will work when tested during activation mode.

If the pump works during activation, I highly doubt that there's a pump motor problem.
