I think we are cofusing the 2 styles of boot.

I was saying that if you use a split boot, and it is the adhesive style, you probably need to be very careful and meticulous not to get any of the CV grease in the area that needs to be bonded. Or it won't hold. And I have been told the split boot's performance is questionable (but I have no data.)

With reference to the one piece boot - it will probably require removing the half axle from the car. This is seemingly messy and more than I felt I wanted to take on.
