I'm with you brother.

I don't understand why Volvo designed the HVAC system the way it is on our 850.
I have the same issues that you have. It drives me crazy.

I don't leave the blower on AUTO because I don't like having the blower running all the time. I just don't like the constant fan blowing in my face, feet, windshield etc. Maybe I'm just a control freak.

If only they just used a regular heater control valve I'd be happy. I think automatic climate control in an automobile is a gimmick. Kind of as silly as headlight wipers, but that's another issue.
