i had 2 knocks sensors replaced (check engine light came on 8 times saying it was a bad sensor) and then a new control unit (replaced due to same knocks sensor code coming up after the 2 knocks replacements). after this i had the 60k service done and they noticed that the pnp switch was bad because the reverse lights were not working. my question is this, could the bad pnp switch trigger the check engine light to come on containing the knocks sensor code? the check engine light came on while the car was going about 30 miles an hour every time. i haven't had the pnp switch replaced yet, but will after reading all the posts about bad transmissions.
thanks!
