Bad O2 sensor: Is car usable? 850 1997

Dear fellow 850 owners:

So, there's a front and a rear oxygen sensor.
For one, will an OBD-II reader tell the difference?
More importantly, is there any mechanical problem with using a car with a bad oxygen sensor? If there is no problem, can the car just be used as normal, until it has to be fixed for inspection?
