Using common sense and experience any rational smart thinker out there knows that Volvo's "lifetime tranny fluid" policy is hogwash....
Knowing the fluid is 3309 I am curious what people are running for a change interval.
My new to me 07 S60 has 65k on it and the fluid is well...not red I am just trying to best understand what others are doing. Again common sense prevails here and I am going to inquire about getting it changed. As luck has it here we are starting winter in MA and its finally decided to get cold out. Pair that with the fact that my weekends are tied up and its dark at 430 I think this will be farmed out to the dealer. I am going to poke around to the various dealers and price shop..but know the Volvo 3309 which is virtually the same as Toyata T IV is 16 dollars a qt more...**sigh**
So...what change intervals are folks running?
Would it be smart to have the fluid changed...and then while at the dealer see if they can "reset" the shift points and reteach the tranny? Figured if I am changing it and the solftware in the tranny has been slowly adapting to the diminishing capability of the old fluid that perhaps this is a good idea. -or- I could be completely wrong and just have the fluid changed?
Regards,
Steve
